Peg Luy
Executive Vice President for Alumni & Development

Peg Luy brings considerable professional experience to her role at Davenport University, including leadership of all aspects of a dynamic alumni & development program, during her tenure as Vice President for Alumni and Development at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Millikin and has completed graduate work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Extending her leadership beyond Milllikin, Peg is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and the National Council on Planned Giving, and has served on the boards of numerous community and professional organizations. She is delighted to be a part of the West Michigan community and looks forward to meeting Davenport's many wonderful alumni and friends across Michigan, the nation and the world in the months ahead. She is inspired by Davenport University's Vision 2015 and is excited about working with all those persons associated with the Davenport community to develop the resources so that our students Get Where the World is Going!

Louise Kidd
Executive Director of Major Gifts

Louise Kidd serves as Executive Director of Major Gifts. She brings to Davenport thirty years of experience in administration and management and in these roles has raised significant contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. She served eight years as the executive director of a local community arts agency and nineteen years in higher education advancement work at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. She was a founding director and president of a state arts advocacy agency in Illinois, founding member of the Decatur Choral Society and served on a number of community boards in central Illinois. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University. Western Michigan is home now, and she looks forward to continuing her commitment of service to the Davenport and Grand Rapids area community.

Michele Davis
Executive Director of Grant Development 

Michele serves as Executive Director of Grant Development at Davenport University. She is responsible for identifying and pursuing grants from government, foundation, corporate and other non-profit entities. Prior to joining Davenport University, Michele spent more than five years as the Senior Grant Writer for Corporate and Foundation Relations at Kent State University. In addition, she spent nearly ten years in workforce development, fund raising and grant writing for a local non-profit agency as well as one year for a Fortune 500 company. While at Kent State, she co-chaired the Institutional Advancement Diversity Action Council and the University-wide 100 Commitments Diversity Initiative. Michele holds a bachelor's degree in English and Economics and has studied Cultural Anthropology. While at Davenport University, she will serve as the Alumni & Development Office representative for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.

Jason P. Madden
Executive Director of Alumni & Development

Jason has been with Davenport for almost nine years – serving in the Alumni & Development Office for the past six. He received his Masters in Business Administration from DU in 2008 and has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Davenport as both a student and an employee. He shares his passion with DU alums and works everyday to enrich the lives of DU students through his outreach. He and his wife, Jennifer, currently reside in East Grand Rapids.

Kaylen Williams
Director of Prospect Research 

Kaylen comes to Davenport University with previous experience in fund development for arts organizations. While obtaining her undergraduate degree from Northern Michigan University she co founded the art gallery and studio space Two Thirty One. This experience led her to pursue a Masters degree from Syracuse University in Museum Studies where she concentrated on non-profit management and development. From 2007 through 2010 she served as the Membership Coordinator for the Grand Rapids Art Museum. She is passionate and dedicated to her community and fund development and she volunteers for several West Michigan non-profits. She recently served as the Taste of Downtown chair for the Celebration on the Grand Board and serves as fundraising advisor to the Western Michigan Mountain Biking Association. She also volunteers as an instructor for Junior Achievement West Michigan and an event volunteer for the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

Leah Bekins
Director of Annual Giving

Leah leads the comprehensive Annual Giving program as well as the Employee Giving program at Davenport University. These programs leverage multi-channel fundraising methods such as direct mail, phone-a-thons, and email solicitations, through which, Leah endeavors to make a case for scholarship and programmatic support to our alumni, friends and DU colleagues.

David Tyler
Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Relations 

David Tyler was appointed as DU’s Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Relations. David comes to the Alumni & Development Office from the Admissions Department in Lansing, where he served as a Senior Admissions Representative for nearly six years, and was instrumental in the progression of the new Lansing campus facility. David received his MBA in Strategic Management from Davenport in 2012, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University ('02). He is extremely proud to call himself a member of the DU “Dream Team,” which acknowledges those who are both employees and alumni of Davenport University. David’s enthusiasm for Davenport and his desire for a large, robust, engaged and dynamic Alumni and Donor Relations enterprise translates into a welcoming invitation for all who share an affinity for DU. David invites alumni and friends of Davenport to join him in helping to create an ambitious and magnificent future for the institution, and continue to turn its potential into reality.

Erik Dane
Alumni & Development Events Manager 

Erik serves as the Alumni and Development Events Manager. He rejoins the Panthers after working with Grand Valley State University in the Conference and Event Planning Department. A Davenport alumni himself, Erik spent seven years with Davenport in various event planning capacities. With over 11 years of event planning experience, he strives for events that consistently exceed the specified goals and create lasting positive guest experiences. Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Management and graduated with his MBA in Strategic Management from Davenport University in 2007. He looks forward to working with fellow Davenport alum throughout the state.

Heather Kalafut
Executive Administrative Assistant

Heather Kalafut serves as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the EVP of Alumni & Development. Heather has a strong background in executive support working as an Executive Administrative Assistant for over a decade in a variety of fields including banking, health care, and education. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration in Strategic Management from Davenport University. Heather enjoys being a member of the Alumni & Development team and is excited to be on her way to becoming a future Davenport University Alumna.

Sarah Mitchell
Alumni & Development Services Coordinator 

Sarah serves as the Alumni and Development Services Coordinator. She is passionate about non-profit development and comes to Davenport with experience in program development and support, including a year spent developing the Hands On Great Buffalo program in New York as an AmeriCorps VISTA. In her free time, Sarah consults for the Transmara Springs Child Development Program and is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
