Job Search and Career Resources

Not sure exactly what you'd like to do for a career?   Or what types of careers you can pursue with your academic major?  Career Services provides important resources and guidance to help you explore your options.  We have created a guide to help you start your career search.

O*NET is a great resource for researching occupations, their educational requirements, employment outlook and salaries.
Informational interviewing gives you the chance to meet professionals in their field and ask them questions about how their career path evolved, what they like or don't like about their jobs, and suggestions they may have for someone looking into that career.

Assessments:

Taking a career or personality assessment can help you to fine tune your major, learn what careers may be a good fit for you, or even understand how to work more effectively with other people.  Davenport offers free online assessments for our students and alumni, and we encourage you to contact Career Services after you complete your assessment to analyze the results.

Resume Assistance:

Your Career Services team is here to assist you with all stages of resume writing, from putting together your first one to fine tuning your years of experience.

Job Search Assistance:

Veterans support: From skills crosswalks to interview skills. We offer support to veterans and their families.
