Amanda began her career as a registered nurse in 1987. She worked in a variety of hospital settings including oncology, medical/surgical, orthopedics, outpatient surgery, pre-admission testing, ambulatory surgery, and staff development. For the last 20 years, she has worked in an ambulatory surgical setting. She holds certifications as a Basic Life Support Instructor and as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support provider. Amanda still works in the hospital setting on an as-needed basis.
Since 2006, Amanda has taught nursing clinicals for several institutions. She also spent nine years leading a parent health team for an elementary school during which time the school received two 1st place Healthy School Assessment Awards from the Michigan Surgeon General.
Amanda joined Davenport in 2011 and continues teaching didactic nursing courses. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
