Diana Stout, Ph.D. has thirty years business experience as a bookkeeper, office manager, and other supervisory positions. During that time she became a self-taught writer, publishing books, poetry, short stories, and nonfiction articles for magazines, and serving as a newspaper and magazine columnist. She has had two short plays produced in New York and optioned a Hollywood screenplay. Her academic career was born when Bainbridge Community College, Georgia and online writing organizations asked if she’d teach creative writing and time management. Moving to Michigan, she continued teaching creative writing, now at Kellogg Community College. In 2003, she began teaching at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and Davenport University, swapping business for academia. In 2006, Diana joined Davenport as an Associate Department Chair, and in 2013, Diana received her Ph.D. in English with Education Emphasis, with a dissertation focus on plagiarism.
