Diana Stout’s career path began in business with thirty years experience as a bookkeeper, office manager, and other supervisory positions. While working, Diana was also writing. As a self-taught writer, she published books, poetry, short stories, and nonfiction articles for magazines. Diana had two short plays produced in New York and optioned a Hollywood screenplay. She also served as a newspaper and magazine columnist.

Her teaching career began at Bainbridge Community College, Georgia, where she taught non-accredited classes in fiction, nonfiction, screenwriting, writing for children, writing for magazines, and time management. She taught both in-seat and online classes. Later, she taught writing at Kellogg Community College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. In 2000, Diana returned to college. Upon receiving a master’s scholarship, she left her business career to focus on creative writing, medieval studies, and teaching. In 2006, Diana joined Davenport as an English department chair. Currently, Diana is working on her Ph.D. in English education with a dissertation focus on plagiarism.
