Why Project Management?
The PMO recently presented on why formalized Project Management is important and how it has been implemented at Davenport University. The slide deck of that presentation is available below. If you would like more information about this presentation or the PMO, please contact the Director of Project Management.
Basecamp
The PMO provides tools, templates and other resources. Our primary project management tool is Basecamp. With Basecamp the project managers are able to track project activities, communicate effectively with project team members and maintain all project documentation in one spot.
Project Risk - The Game
The PMO is available to facilitate an hour-long introduction to Project Risk. This is done using an interactive board game created to introduce players to project risk management and help them develop strategies in dealing with the risk. It can be effectively used in a classroom setting as an enhancement to a class on project risk, or as a department session to better understand how project risk affects project outcomes. Session size is 8 - 16 individuals. Contact the Director of Project Management for details.
Project Management Institute
The Project Management Institute is the world's largest not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession. It has more than 650,000 members in more than 185 countries. PMI provides standards for project management and support for its members to help ensure project success. The Project Managers in the PMO are all members of PMI and the local West Michigan Chapter.
