What is the Certified Professional Insurance Agent Course?

This is a fast-track, three day, intensive program to earn the CPIA designation. It was developed by the American Insurance Marketing and Sales (AIMS) Society, and is a powerful tool that will help you educate consumers on the best insurance products for their needs.

This program is ideal If you are an:

  • Insurance industry practitioner seeking to enhance or advance your career
  • Individual or manager responsible for insurance agency operations
  • Insurance or financial services staff pursuing career change or promotion
  • Insurance professional considering acquisition or expansion of your operations

It is designed to:

  • Enhance your career potential and professional status with hands-on, how-to training
  • Present practical lessons and career networking advice 
  • Earn 7 Continuing Education (CE) credits per day (21 total) or maintain CPIA designation status
  • Deliver a systematic framework for successful account review and development 

 What to Expect

No exam is required to earn this credential. Your class will be led by top insurance industry experts:

The three-day program curriculum includes:

Positioning for Success 

  • Internal and external factors for developing effective business plans
  • Overview and competitive analysis of the insurance marketplace
  • Insurance carrier underwriting criteria
  • Consumer expectations and understanding
  • Customizing customer insurance plans
  • Tips for preventing errors and omissions

Implementing for Success 

  • Conducting a thorough risk analysis
  • Preparing submissions that meet or exceed underwriter expectations
  • Creating insurance solutions through addressing coverage concerns or gaps
  • Preventing errors and omissions in proposals

Sustaining Success 

  • Enhancing client relationships through risk counseling
  • Increasing client security using proactive account development
  • Effective communication during policy delivery
  • Risk review
  • Planned client contact activities
  • Legal and ethical performance standards

Course Fees

$495 per attendee for all 3 days, includes lunch and break refreshments. Continuing Education credit processing fee $21 (if desired).

$200 per attendee per day if not attending all 3 days. Continuing Education credits are $7 per day if desired.
