Know Your Rights. Know Your Responsibilities.

As part of the Davenport University community, every student has rights and responsibilities. Once you have been admitted to Davenport, you are accountable for knowing and abiding by the Student Code of Conduct and other policies as outlined in the Student Catalog.

If You Violate the Student Code of Conduct

If your behavior is inconsistent with Davenport policy, whether the event occurs in or out of the classroom or on or off campus, the judicial process is initiated.

  • You will be notified through your Davenport email that a violation has been filed.
  • You will be invited to attend a hearing (with an individual judicial officer or a hearing council).
  • At the hearing, you will be able to discuss the charges and a determination will be made.
  • If you are found in violation, sanctions may be imposed on you.

What are Sanctions?

Sanctions are steps taken to ensure that no additional violations occur. Sanctions range from a formal warning or probation to suspension or dismissal, based on the severity of the violation. Specific, discretionary sanctions may be imposed (i.e. restoration following an act of vandalism) related to the violation.

What if I Disagree with a Determination?

You have the right to appeal decisions resulting from judicial action.
