For the third consecutive year, Davenport was awarded membership on the President's Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service. This award recognizes Davenport's significant contribution to community service and academic service learning.
Nineteen Davenport students were honored at the state level for their commitment to serving the Michigan Community. Read more in the DU Hub [1].
For the first time in Fall, 2011, several Davenport course sections will be designated in the course schedule as including an academic service learning or experiential learning projects. The designations look like this:
Faculty can propose that a course be designated as EL or SL in the year-long schedule by completing the EL & SL Course Designation Proposal Form [2].

College of Business Courses Partner on EL Projects with Wyoming-Kentwood Chamber of Commerce
DU's Mike Carey, Marketing Department faculty member at the Lettinga campus, helped to arrange a series of College of Business projects with small business owners and members of the Wyoming-Kentwood Chamber of Commerce. Student and faculty work from one of these courses was featured on p. 9 of the Chamber's May 2011 newsletter [4],
