European Business and Culture Program

3 Weeks in Germany and France!

Course of Study

Though the experience abroad is three weeks long, the coursework is completed in a 12-week format. Enrollment in the 2013 Spring/Summer Semester is required.

June 16 & 17 Dresden & Leipzig
  • BMW Production Plant
  • GVZ -- major logistics center

June 18-19 Berlin

  • Schworerhaus - home building firm

June 20 - 25 Strasbourg and Environs, France

Meet Your Professors

Dr. Frank Novakowski serves as Associate Dean for the Undergraduate College of Business. He has International business experience in both Germany and Japan. He will teach international marketing, operations management, and SABR 781, MBA Capstone. Dr. Novakowski is the program director.

Dr. Mitchell Place, earned his Ph.D. degree in German culture and language studies. He will lead coursework in the Study Abroad Experience courses. He has lived in Germany for many years and now teaches the German Language courses at the Lettinga Campus.

Estimated program cost: $4,950** ** Pricing may change due to foreign currency
fluctuations and other circumstances.

Program cost includes:

  • Round-trip airfare to and from Europe
  • Modest, safe and clean two star lodging
  • Breakfast each day, several corporate (lunches & some planned dinners)
  • All ground transportation for planned schedule
  • Bi-lingual tour guides—most locations
  • Admission fees for all scheduled sites listed on the program itinerary

Additional expenses:

  • Passports ($110-135) and text fees vary by individuals and courses taken
  • Personal expenses - $700 est. for 20 days
  • Standard tuition per course

Important Dates:

January 31, 2013 - Application deadline 

February 15 – $500 non-refundable registration payment
March 22 -- Payment of 50% of balance
April 12 – Balance due; final non-refundable payment
