Davenport offers you the opportunity to experience, firsthand, the geography, cultures and hospitality of the Kenyan people this summer.

    Your Professor

    Dr. Gerald Nyambane, a Kenyan national, is an economics professor at Davenport University. His international expertise, in-country colleagues, and family connections provide students with an unforgettable, thrilling, and breath-taking journey throughout Kenya.

    Attention students

    Kenyan Cultural Experience

    • English is the official language and Kiswahili is the national language. At least 40 other languages are spoken

    • Greatest sanctuary of large mammals

    • Bisected longitudinally by the Great Rift Valley and laterally by the equator

    • Kenyan coffee and Kenyan tea are, of course, grown in Kenya, mostly by small-scale farmers

    Program cost includes:

    • Round-trip airfare (estimated at $1,900)
    • Hotel accommodation
    • All meals, field trips and excursions

    • Health Insurance

    Additional expenses:

    • Personal expenses ($300-$500)

    • Lake Bogoria hot water springs
    • Naivasha flower farms, small-scale farms

    May 29 — May 31 Maasai Mara Game Reserve

    • Safari to the Maasai Mara Natural reserve
