If you are a Bachelor of Science in Nursing – PL student going into your Junior and Senior year, can demonstrate a financial need that creates hardships in completing the BSN – PL program, possess at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher, you may apply for The Hearst Foundations Scholarship. For more information about eligibility criteria and award amounts click here. Please complete the essay attached to the application. The essay must include why you want to be a nurse, explanation of the financial hardship(s) that you are experiencing and how this scholarship will ensure you successfully graduating with your BSN and passing the NCLEX. Your essay must be typed and double-spaced, following APA formatting, approximately 450 words.
If you are a junior or senior and declared Risk Management and Insurance as your specialty for the Management BBA with a GPA of 3.5 or higher you may apply for the Farmers Insurance Annual Scholarship. For more information about eligibility criteria and award amounts click here. Please complete the essay and attach to your application. The essay must be 500-750 words typed, double-spaced. In addition to the essay, please include a review of your community service, number of hours of community service in the past or a letter of recommendation from the community service organization.

If you are a nursing major at the Midland campus, are enrolled in clinical courses (Level I or Level II), have satisfactory performance during the fall semester within the nursing sequence, have satisfactory standing in clinical rotation, and have an overall GPA of at least 2.5, you may be eligible to receive the Mary Walsh Kole Memorial Nursing Scholarship. Please attach the following essay to your application to be considered for this scholarship. Your essay must be typed and double-spaced. Remember to attach a reference letter from an extended care facility or nursing home if currently or previously employed. Note: BSN students and students on probation will not be considered.

If you are a returning Davenport student, earned a minimum GPA of 3.2, and have enrolled for at least 9 credit hours, you may be eligible for the Davenport University Northern Michigan Staff Annual Scholarship. Eligible students are incoming freshman majoring in a BS program from the College of Technology who attend the Lettinga campus and have financial need. Preference is given to students graduating from Forest Hills Public Schools. Please attach the following essay to your application to be considered for this scholarship. Your essay must be typed, double-spaced and 500-750 words and include the following: 1) share a little about yourself and why you chose the technology field, 2) why college is important to you and how this scholarship can help you, and 3) your future career plans.
You may be eligible for this scholarship if you are attending Davenport's Lansing campus. Preference is given to students having achieved junior or senior status. To be considered, please submit a typed, double-spaced essay of not more than 500 words explaining how the scholarship will benefit your academic progress and help you meet your career goals.

Lisa Trombley was a great student and friend to all at DU's Romeo Campus. She worked hard to pay for books and the balance financial aid did not cover. Her life was cut short by a drunk driver in November 2001. This scholarship was established to honor her memory and aid all who struggle with the cost of a college education. Applicants must submit a 500 word essay on how as a society we can end drunk driving and avoid further tragedies.
