Description:

Certiport certifications are valuable, professional credentials which are globally recognized standards for digital literacy and desktop computing proficiency.  For more information, check the certification tests on the products tab [1] on the Certiport web site.

Testing Sites:

Certiport exams are only offered at the Grand Rapids W. A. Lettinga campus [9].  For Test Center hours click here [10].

Registration:

Exams are by appointment only.  For Test Center hours click here [10].  Schedule an appointment at the DU Grand Rapids W. A. Lettinga Testing Center. Call (616) 554-5614 or e-mail grandrapids.testing@davenport.edu [11].  Candidates who have not registered or tested with Certiport before need to pre-register [12] on the Certiport web site to create a user name and password for the day of testing.

Cost:

To take a Certiport exam, you must purchase a voucher. There is no service fee. You can bring a voucher purchased elsewhere, or you can purchase a discounted voucher for only the MOS or ACA exams with a credit card at the W.A. Lettinga campus at the time of testing.  Students attending other DU campuses may purchase discounted vouchers from the W. A. Lettinga campus with a credit card (call 616-554-5614) and test at a local testing site [13]. Students must present their student ID number for the student discount.

Test Duration:

Tests vary in length.  Check the Certiport web page [1] for the length of the exam you wish to take.

Retake Rule:

A candidate may use a retake voucher to retake a failed exam. The retake policy varies based on the exam certification.  For more information click here [14].

ID on Day of Testing:

Candidates must present a government issued photo ID, such as a passport, state-issued driver’s license, state-issued ID card, etc., on day of testing.  Candidates will not be tested if they fail to present appropriate ID.

Testing Center Rules:

Prohibited Items - Candidates may not take recording devices, such as paper/pencil, cameras, PDAs, computers, or communication devices, such as telephones, or pagers into the testing area.

Score Results:

Results will be available immediately upon completion of the test, accessible on the "My Certiport" page with the username and password used to test.

Accommodations:

Certiport and its Authorized Testing Centers require advance notification of requests for accommodation(s) as well as a reasonable amount of time to review and implement such requests.   For more information click here [16].

Military Candidates:

Microsoft [17], with assistance from the U.S. Department of Labor in a liaison role, and local workforce areas, offers U.S. military veterans and their eligible spouses vouchers for no-cost IT skills training and certification.
