Veteran Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Program Academic Advisor
In 2000, I enlisted in the Army National Guard as a combat medic with the Detachment 6 HQ Starc Unit in Detroit, Michigan. In 2006, I commissioned as a Patient Administration Officer in the Medical Service Corps where I eventually transitioned as an Operations Officer and currently serve as a Health Services Officer for the 146th Multi Functional Medical Battalion. During my time as an officer, I served on active duty orders for four years and worked as a military technician for close to a year. I also had the privilege of training in the United Kingdom alongside the British soldiers.
During my service, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. I used the Army’s Tuition Assistance Program as well as the Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve or Chapter 1606 to assist with my costs for school. Being both a student and service member, I can relate to some of the things that military students go through. In my role as the Veterans Nursing Academic Advisor, I look forward to providing overall excellent customer service and ensuring that my students are well taken care of. It is an honor to work with and give back to my veterans and fellow service members here at Davenport University. Welcome!
