ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE • 75 CREDITS • HLT INFO AAS
This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs at Battle Creek and Saginaw in conjunction with the Lansing location (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (AAMAE). The program is designed to prepare competent entry-level medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. Graduates are prepared in the basics of patient care, basic laboratory practices and medical office procedures. In addition, the graduate will have developed their interpersonal communication skills and acquired a foundation in both psychology and diversity. The graduate is eligible to take the certification exam of the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) and/or the American Medical Technologist Exam (RMA). (At some locations, an option for this program is to complete a phlebotomy concentration, becoming eligible to write a phlebotomy certification exam.)
