Make a Difference Day--Our Chance to Make an Impact

Make a Difference Day is a national day of service that draws the attention of over 3 million volunteers across the country.  Davenport volunteers celebrate this day every year with multiple local service projects.

This year, the DU Volunteer Center hosted four service projects in our community with over 50 DU student volunteers.

  •     Crash's Landing
  •     Home Repair Services
  •     Ronald McDonald House
  •     John Ball Zoo

Days of Service Overview

DU Days of Service offers a number of campus-wide volunteer opportunities during the academic year through the Davenport University Volunteer Center.

Why participate? Here are just a few reasons:

  • It's a great way to get involved in the community - individually or with a group.
  • All hours served with the DU Days of Service and other Volunteer Center Initiatives qualify for the Davenport University Community Service Honor Roll.

Transportation will then be provided to each of the four service projects.  Students can expect to gain three volunteer hours, which of course is applicable to to the 25 hours required to qualify for the Community Service Honor Roll.  The benefits of these service projects will be well worth the effort.  Students must pre-register to participate in Make a Difference Day by Thursday, October 20.
