In pursuing the BBA in Public Safety and Security Management the student must have completed a diploma in public safety, security, fire technology or the police academy plus foundational coursework in management, finance, two sequential semesters of accounting principles and statistics.

In order to meet Davenport University's residency requirements students must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours which must include 6 IAAS, HRMG, MGMT, PSMG courses, and PSMG441. It is highly recommended that the 8 marked courses be completed at Davenport University in order to meet this residency requirement. Exceptions may be made for students that have completed a Graduate certificate program.

It is recommended that students who have earned a two year diploma complete all of the foundation courses either as transfer credit from their previous institution or at Davenport University.

Students must complete a minimum total of 120 semester credit hours to earn the Bachelor of Business Administration Public Safety and Security Management degree. The total credit hours will include the completed 2 or 3 year diploma classes plus any courses completed through Davenport University.
