I enlisted in the United States Army in September of 2003 and went to Fort Sill, OK for basic training. After basic training I went to Fort Benning, GA for Airborne School. From Airborne school, I was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC until November of 2005. In November of 2005 I was deployed to Iraq where my job was convoy security.

After getting out of the military, I immediately enrolled in a community college and utilized my Montgomery GI Bill to cover the cost of my associate’s degree. After receiving my associate’s degree I went on to pursue my bachelor’s degree and was able to have the Post-9/11 GI Bill pay for 100% percent of my tuition!

Since arriving at Davenport I have been able to work with military students and use my past experience to make sure students are aware of all their benefits and reach their academic goals.
