Important Information about Overload Requests

The overload request form should only be used once the requirements for a specific course have been discussed with the appropriate Dean or Department Chair.


The Workload Request system allows faculty to request a modification to their required instructional load. PLEASE REVIEW:

Reassign Request

Reassigned Time (REA) is defined as a reduction in required instructional workload (credit hours) for projects which benefit the University, community, or students.

Overload Request

An overload is defined as credit hours beyond the faculty member’s required instructional workload for an academic year.

Review the Employee Handbook for all policies pertaining to Reassign Time requests and Overload requests.

    Rationale for your request should be explanatory and thorough. Requests may be denied and returned to you for revision if adequate rationale is not provided.
