Established in 2015, Harris Interdisciplinary Research is the work produced by a group of dedicated Davenport University students and external collaborators directed by Assistant Professor, Laura Harris, that explore microbiological questions using in silico (computational) and in vitro (cell and molecular labortatory) approaches. Our projects are presented at regional conferences several times a year, published regularly in international peer-reviewed science journals, and featured in DU Review alumni magazine articles. Our next conference will be the West Michigan Regional Undergraduate Science Research Conference  at Van Andel Research Institute on November 10, 2018. Hope to see you there!

Some honors awarded for our research:

  • 2015-2017 CTE Faculty Research Grant
  • 2018 M.E. Davenport Legacy Endowment award
  • 2018 Michigan American Society for Microbiology Best Undergraduate Poster - Kristine Spitzer
  • 2018 Davenport University Day of Research Best Poster - Amber Park
