For high school students entering grades 9-12
Cost: This camp is FREE for students
Time: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., lunch and a t-shirt is included

What is available?

Although we hope to provide all of the activities below, events amy be changed without notice if necessary.

  • Programming Fun: Gradually create a program about you!' Get an overview on programming concepts using common programming languages such as Java or HTML/JAVASCRIPT a web page
  • 3D Printing: Create an item using our 3-D printer that you can take home with you at the end of the week.
  • Recognizing Patterns in Images! This session will involve a basic introduction to digital images and how computers are able to match one object in an image to another. The objects that can be matched can be anything from a table to a face! We’ll quickly cover what a digital image is and how we can pull out interesting stuff from it that we can then use to match the interesting stuff in other images.
  • Creativity at Your Fingertips: Learn how to use free software to make word clouds, podcasts, images and more.
  • Cyber Security: Learning about cyber security threats and needs for information security. You will explore network attacks, and specifically Spear Phishing attacks.
  • The Game is On 3D!: Learn concepts about game design and development. It includes a demonstration of common tools used in game design and a 3D game
  • Robotic Demonstration by a Robotic team (Room) (James Allen, Dennis Behrens)
  •  GPS to college education: Get tips on getting prepared for college and how to pay for it
  • Let’s change the world: Get an overview of the different careers path in the innovative and lucrative world of technology
  • Creativity at Your Finger Tips: How to use free software to make word clouds, podcasts, edited images, and MP3 files.
  • Certs! Certs! Certs! Show IT students how the courses they are taking can prepare them for an industry certification.
