Job Title: Vice President for Detroit Campus and Strategic Partnerships

Job Summary:

The Vice President for Detroit Campus and Strategic Partnerships is a member of the President’s Leadership Team responsible for the development and execution of strategies and partnerships to meet recruitment and retention goals, and ensure students the opportunity to attain meaningful employment upon graduation. Key success factors includes providing leadership and management for the Detroit Campus operations, as well as building positive student, community, and business relations in order to enhance the University’s visibility and public relations.

The Vice President represents and promotes the University, increasing its visibility and supporting the institution’s mission, vision, cultural values - STAIR and goals.

Responsibility Overview:

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and partnerships to advance the University’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.

  • Hire, train, manage and develop staff. Provide leadership, support and guidance to campus staff.

  • Effectively lead and manage the enrollment of new and current students.

  • Attain recruitment, retention, graduation and other established goals and objectives.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, business and industry, local and state officials, other institutions of higher education and local school districts.  Through active participation in local organizations/groups, promote enrollment and corporate services as a means to support the campus and university goals.

  • Identify trends and needs in the community that affect enrollment, corporate partnerships, and general business related activities and provide input into public relations and public policy campaign objectives and initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain a student-centered learning environment of academic excellence.

  • Provide for networking opportunities with area or industry specific employers as a ready source of employment and internships for students.

Qualification Highlights:

  • Master’s degree required in business development, business administration, education, marketing, or other related field.

  • A minimum of five years experience in progressively challenging leadership positions.

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, which transcend diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated motivational and problem solving skills with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the university.

  • Demonstrated ability to promote a multicultural environment, lead diverse groups of people, and obtain cooperation and results through others.
