Physical Therapy Department Chair/Program Director
Davenport University, Grand Rapids, Michigan, seeks appications and nominations for the position of Physical Therapy Department Chair/Program Director in the College of Health Professions.

Reporting to the Dean for the College of Health Professions, the Department Chair/Program Director for Physical Therapy will join Davenport at a time when the initial vision for our doctoral program in Physical Therapy is realizing the full potential.  The vision began to take shape in 2012 based on emerging market intelligence on the critical business need for the program.  In the intervening months and years, much progress has been made.  We are positioned with the curriculum having been built, our faculty in place and our facilities undergoing the necessary preparation for appropriate PT educational space.  Our next critical threshold will be our application for accreditation to The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), so this is the primary opportunity and challenge for our new Department Chair/Program Director to help lead us through.

The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, a collaborative managerial style and a commitment to quality and excellence. The ideal candidate will bring experience as both an educator and leader in higher education with experience teaching and providing leadership in the Physical Therapy environment and expertise in meeting and exceeding the CAPTE guidelines. 

The Department Chair/Program Director will evaluate curriculum, allocate space, hire faculty and develop clinical education sites consistent with CAPTE Standards. Opportunities exist to collaborate with other existing and developing programs within the College.
