With an expertise in management and leadership, Deb Schoenwether serves as an Associate Department Chair for the Donald W. Maine College of Business. In this role, she is actively engaged with the Global Campus in academic course development, faculty recruitment, hiring and development, teaching and student success.
Prior to transitioning to her academic role, Professor Schoenwether worked over 23 years at the Kalamazoo Gazette. In her years at the paper, she was part of many initiatives from computerizing carrier lists, streamlining the pre-press operations to selling zoned advertising and mailing lists. Professor Schoenwether spent much of her newspaper career crossing all department boundaries. She worked with advertisers, sales representatives, department heads, writers, pressmen, accountants, and carriers to ensure the timely production and delivery of the newspaper.
Professor Schoenwether presented day-long management workshops at the Institute for Professional Excellence (IPEX), which designs specific corporate and professional courses for management. Additionally, she has completed the Quality Matters (QM) Rubric workshop and been certified to apply the QM rubric to course development at Davenport.
