Dr. Bingman joined the Occupational Therapy Department at Davenport University as full-time faculty in 2015. She is a registered and licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L), with experience working with pediatric and geriatric patient populations in a variety of practice settings: outpatient, school-based, residential, home health, and inpatient mental health.

Currently, Dr. Bingman works as both an educator in the classroom and a fieldwork supervisor. She teaches courses including Occupational Therapy Process in Sensory-Motor Dysfunction, Issues in Aging: Changes in Activities and Occupations, Access to Care I and Access to Care II. Dr. Bingman also teaches a lecture component to the occupational therapy students’ behavioral and mental health fieldwork course (Level I B) and acts as the primary fieldwork supervisor for the students’ neurological conditions fieldwork course (Level I C). Dr. Bingman is Co-Advisor for the registered student organization, Active Minds-DU.

Dr. Bingman has engaged in a variety of scholarly activities. She presented, “Helping Students Excel: Why Academic Resiliency Matters,” at Davenport University’s 2016 Wynalda Teaching and Learning Institute (TLI). In October of 2015, she completed the Crisis Prevention Institute’s® Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Instructor Training. This certification allows her to train Davenport University students and staff in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention®. Dr. Bingman has been an External Capstone Reviewer for students completing their Professional Doctorates of Occupational Therapy (OTD) through Chatham University. She has contributed to the fields of occupational therapy and interprofessional health care education through her role as an annual Proposal Reviewer for the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Annual Conference and the Collaborating Across Borders Conference.
