With an expertise in nursing, Maggie Hovey serves as full time faculty for the College of Health Professions on the Midland campus. In this role she is responsible for creating and facilitating a student learning environment. While achieving learning outcomes for assigned courses.

A nurse for seventeen years, Maggie Hovey worked on a Maturity and Pediatric unit and maintained her operating room skills as a scrub and circulating nurse. She was also trained as a lactation nurse. Starting her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) float on different units. Prior to transitioning her academic role, Maggie Hovey was employed at Davenport University and MidMichigan Community College as an adjunct nursing clinical and lab instructor.

Maggie Hovey is a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and has a Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN). She teaches courses at the undergraduate level. Also, she is a Student Nurse Association (SNA) Advisor. Maggie Hovey holds memberships in the Mabel Engle School of Nursing Honors Society and the National League of Nursing. She currently is a Neonatal Resuscitation Instructor. Maggie Hovey has certificates of completion from Davenport University for Online Instructor and The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Extramural Research “Protecting Human Research Participations”.
