Sue has held a broad scope of positions in nursing throughout her 30-year career. She has been a staff nurse, supervisor, director, and briefly, a nurse executive. Her clinical experiences include labor and delivery, operating room, emergency department, pre-hospital patient care, and psychiatric nursing. In addition, Sue’s experiences include eight years as an infection control practitioner and over 30 years in performance/quality improvement, risk management and regulatory control.
Sue has served as State President for the Michigan State Council of Emergency Nurses, Michigan Society of Healthcare Risk Management, and served multiple terms on state education and governmental committees and the National Committee Chair for a Managed Care Conference.
Sue has taught at DU as adjunct faculty for over 11 years beginning in the Allied Health Division and moved to full-time in May 2011. Sue teaches Fundamentals of Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Healthcare Regulations, and Healthcare Research. She is also the faculty advisor for the Student Nurses Association (SNA).
