Dr. Hunt has been with Davenport University since 2005. He is currently the Associate Dean of Health Information Management and Allied Health Programs in the College of Health Professions. Prior to joining DU, he served in leadership roles with Sparrow Health System, ProMedica Health System, and Mercy Health Partners. Dr. Hunt is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

He is a Past-President of the Michigan Health Information Management Association (MHIMA) and of the Lake Huron Health Information Management Association. Dr. Hunt has been a speaker and presenter at the AHIMA Assembly on Education, the International Federation of Health Information Management Associations (IFHIMA) Congress and General Assembly, as well as the MHIMA Annual Conference. He has been published in the Journal of AHIMA, Perspectives in Health Information Management, and as a chapter author in the textbook Health Information Management; Concepts, Principles, and Practice. In 2015 he was recognized as a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association (FAHIMA).
