With an expertise in accounting and finance, Brian Moore serves as the Associate Department Chair of Accounting and Finance. In this role he is engages with several campuses, focusing on students and ensuring that learning outcomes are met.
As an accountant, and corporate financial consultant, Professor Moore has worked in many industries. Early in his career he worked for a stockbroker in the Internal Auditing Department then became an accountant for a major typesetting and printing company. He then worked for Ford Motor Company as an Internal Auditor performing audits within the accounts payable and the treasury departments. As a financial consultant, he was instrumental in the financial turnaround of an internet company, allowing the company to become financially stable and ultimately sell the company to a much larger institution. He helped the company understand their true cost structure and adopt appropriate pricing strategies. Professor Moore provided accounting and financial analysis services for a national real-estate company with $500 million in assets for several years.
Professor Moore is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Having the Certified Fraud Examiner credential shows expertise in fraud prevention, detection and deterrence. He teaches accounting and finance courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
