We recognize that engaged managers create productive employees which drives efficiency and profits. 

The 12-week Certificate of Supervisory Management focuses on the core competencies necessary to increase productivity and performance. Learn to build collaboration, promote trust, and empower your employees to achieve results. This program will improve your skills in effective communication, team building, motivation, conflict resolution and problem-solving to help you find the right balance between traditional top-down management and more collaborative approaches.

Learn how to:

  • Clarify the scope and nature of your leadership position
  • Identify employee ability and desire (motivation) to perform 
  • Utilize effective feedback as a tool to tap into motives
  • Decide crucial matters with clarity and confidence by applying problem solving steps and tools
  • Analyze information to clearly describe problems and identify appropriate solutions
  • Identify the types of conflict and the stages of conflict and how to utilize effective techniques for intervention strategies
  • Utilize strategies and approaches for effective communication in conflict resolution
  • Build teamwork by recognizing and tapping into the 12 characteristics of an effective team
  • Recognize the key elements that move a team from involvement to empowerment and how to give these elements to your team
  • Discuss strategies for dealing with team conflict and common problems
  • Understand how action planning and analysis tools can optimize team performance
  • Learn communication paradigms and common communication problems 
  • Develop skills to ask the right questions and gain an understanding of “you - I” messages
  • Learn what non-verbal messages are telling others
  • Develop skills in listening actively and empathetically to others
  • Learn how to deal with situations assertively using persuasion and negotiation
