In the Panther’s short history of athletics Davenport has won numerous national championships – including four consecutive hockey championships, a men’s lacrosse championship, a men’s rugby championship – and over 16 conference championships. the classroom

Over 120 student-athletes representing 15 different teams have been recognized nationally for their academic success, highlighted by 43 earning NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition. the community

DU student-athletes participated in the following community activities: Volunteering in schools through the Heroes mentoring

 program, read to children at local elementary schools, coached youth and high school athletic teams and camps, taught Sunday school classes, and helped new students move in to the dorms at Davenport. Fundraising events – Relay for Life (American Cancer Society), Climb for a Cause (Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital), Strike-out Cancer softball game (Van Andel Institute), and several food drives. Community support – volunteering with Make A Wish Foundation, Junior Achievement, United Way, and Habitat for Humanity; sorting clothes at Mel Trotter Ministries; “Into the Streets” park clean-up; Make a Difference Day; serving food at God’s Kitchen; assisting the elderly in running errands; and helping box lunches at Kids’ Food Basket
