Cook Center Parking Policy

1.0 OVERVIEW

This document contains parking procedures for the Peter C. Cook Center of Davenport University. These procedures are in place to address local operating needs unique to the local campus and do not apply to any other Davenport University location. This document exists in addition to, not in place of the “Davenport University Parking and Registration Enforcement Policy.” Vehicles operating at the location are subject to the provisions of both policies.

2.0 Academic Classes/University Business

Degree-Seeking Students, Faculty, and Staff of Davenport University have priority use of the parking lot at the Peter C. Cook Center when on campus for academic classes or official business. There may be times when parking needs exceed the available spaces. Absent pre-arranged options, anyone arriving on campus when all available parking spaces are occupied will be required to secure off-site parking at their own expense.

3.0 IPEx Events

When no academic classes are in session, IPEx may utilize available spaces in the on campus parking lot for their events. The Event Management System may be used to identify whether an academic class is in session on a particular day for planning purposes. In the event of a conflict, the Executive Director of Public Safety, or his/her designee, will make a final determination regarding lot availability. IPEx events must vacate the parking lot a minimum of 1 hour prior to the beginning of an academic class. There may be times when parking needs exceed the available spaces. Absent pre-arranged options, anyone arriving on campus when all available parking spaces are occupied will be required to secure off-site parking at their own expense.

4.0 External Groups and Events

External groups will need to secure parking options off campus during events. They will not be permitted to use the on campus lot without the prior written approval of the Executive Director of Public Safety or his/her designee. This does not include individual meetings involving university personnel for official business. These meetings fall under the provisions of section 2.0 of this document.

5.0 Modifications

Davenport University reserves the right to modify this policy at any time, with or without notice. Revisions will be made at the discretion of the Executive Director of Public Safety.
