Description:

Certiport certifications are valuable, professional credentials which are globally recognized standards for digital literacy and desktop computing proficiency.  For more information, check the certification tests on the products tab on the Certiport web site.

Testing Sites:

Certiport exams are only offered at the Grand Rapids W. A. Lettinga campus.  For Test Center hours click here.

Registration:

Candidates who have not registered or tested with Certiport before need to pre-register on the Certiport web site to create a user name and password for the day of testing.  Certiport is only offered at the DU Grand Rapids W. A. Lettinga Testing Center.  To schedule a testing appointment:

  1. Check the DU Testing Hours at our W. A. Lettinga Testing Center to select your time.

Cost:

To take a Certiport exam, you must purchase a voucher. There is no service fee. You can bring a voucher purchased elsewhere, or you can purchase a discounted voucher for only the MOS or ACA exams with a credit card at the W.A. Lettinga campus at the time of testing.  Students attending other DU campuses may purchase discounted vouchers from the W. A. Lettinga campus with a credit card (call 616-554-5614). Students must present their student ID number for the student discount.

Test Duration:

Tests vary in length.  Check the Certiport web page for the length of the exam you wish to take.

Retake Rule:

A candidate may use a retake voucher to retake a failed exam. The retake policy varies based on the exam certification.  For more information click here.

ID on Day of Testing:

Candidates must present a government issued photo ID, such as a passport, state-issued driver’s license, state-issued ID card, etc., on day of testing.  Candidates will not be tested if they fail to present appropriate ID.

Testing Center Rules:

Prohibited Items - Candidates may not take recording devices, such as paper/pencil, cameras, PDAs, computers, or communication devices, such as telephones, or pagers into the testing area.

Score Results:

Results will be available immediately upon completion of the test, accessible on the "My Certiport" page with the username and password used to test.

Accommodations:

Certiport and its Authorized Testing Centers require advance notification of requests for accommodation(s) as well as a reasonable amount of time to review and implement such requests.   For more information click here.

Military Candidates:

Microsoft, with assistance from the U.S. Department of Labor in a liaison role, and local workforce areas, offers U.S. military veterans and their eligible spouses vouchers for no-cost IT skills training and certification.

Study Resources:

From Certiport - Self-assessments, practice tests, and sample exams are available under Exam Preparation on the Certiport web site. Visit the Certiport web site for additional information.

From SelfTest - Now, DU students can obtain SelfTest IT Certification Practice Tests for $33.00 per exam (about 2/3 off the regular price).

These are full-version practice exams that are very helpful in studying for your certification exams. Most come with hundreds of questions, answers, flash cards and study guides, with detailed explanations about the responses. Many include simulations that are similar to what you will find on the exam. Once purchased, they are yours to keep, running and using as often as you like.  Tests are available for most Computer/Networking certifications.
