Davenport University 2017 Wynalda Teaching and Learning Institute

Online course "Promoting and Assessing Significant Learning"

This in-depth online course will be offered at two different times to accommodate needs and preferences:  July 26-August 10 and September 27-October 12.  If we do not fill both slots, the July/August session will be consolidated with the fall session. Participation is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Adjuncts, TLCs, and anyone else who teaches at DU (even if teaching is not your primary job) is welcome to participate.  Click HERE to register.

9:00 - 9:30 AM             Registration, coffee, and light snacks  (online meet and greet for online participants) in the Sneden Center Auditorium entryway
9:30 AM Event kickoff and opening general session with Claire Major, Ph.D.  (livestreamed event for online participants)--in the Sneden Center Auditorium.  Please register to participate in-seat or virtually.  This event will be LIVESTREAMED.
11:30 AM Lunch in dining hall at Lettinga campus
12:15 - 2:15 PM                    
  • GROUP A workshop with Claire Major, Ph.D. in the Sneden Center Meeting Rooms
  • GROUP B workshops on:  The New Develop U, Faculty Performance Management update, ADA, McGraw-Hill Connect (Auditorium and 2nd floor classrooms)

  • GROUP B workshop with Claire Major, Ph.D. in the Sneden Center Meeting Rooms

Networking, cocktails and dinner buffet with Table Talks at Grand Rapids Doubletree Hotel  (Inseat registration required for meal count)

 OPTIONAL after dinner event:  Film showing of Gender Revolution with Katie Couric (a National Geographic documentary)

Note: Groups will be assigned based on college. The goal is to have colleges participate in the workshop as a group to facilitate collaboration and conversation.
