Dining has an App
I'm not talking buffalo chicken dip or wing-dings. I am talking about a DU Dining App for your smart phone or tablet. We are now part of the Davenport Mobile toolkit.
Along with the other useful items in the toolkit, you will now have daily access to the Dining Hall menus, Panther Den soups & specials and what is going on at VC Ice Cream in the Student Center.
Search your app provider for Davenport University and download the Mobile toolkit now!
Cold and Flu season is in full swing
Here are the top three ways to prevent getting sick:
1. WASH YOUR HANDS for at least 20 seconds with soap and water! This is probably the number one thing you can do to prevent illness. Be sure your children are washing their hands often or using hand sanitizer.
2. Don't touch your face. Even if germs are on your hands, they can't enter the body unless you touch your eyes, nose or mouth. Teach your children to not touch their faces either. (You will be amazed at how many times you touch your face once you begin to pay attention!)
3. If your doctor recommends it, get a flu shot for your entire family! Often times doctor's offices have special rooms set-up in the fall just for giving flu shots. So it's fast, easy and effective.
The best way to keep from getting sick is by being healthy. Get a good nights sleep, eat well and try and be active for one hour everyday.
If you do get sick, keep it to yourself. Don't attend group activities, and contact your professor or your boss to let them know you won't be in. Trust me, they would appreciate you not sharing whatever you have.
Have a great winter semester.
