Anthony Anderson 

Interim President of Davenport University

Anthony Anderson became interim president of Davenport University on July 1, 2026. He is committed to advancing the university's mission of preparing students for successful careers while fostering innovation, academic excellence and student success. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, faculty and staff, he provides strategic leadership to advance Davenport's Vision 2030 priorities and ensure the university continues to meet the evolving needs of its students and employers. 

Anderson joined Davenport in 2023 as chief financial officer, where he provided leadership for the university's finance, accounting, information technology services, public safety, facilities, risk management and auxiliary enterprises. He played a key role in strengthening the university's financial and operational foundation while supporting strategic initiatives across the institution. Before joining Davenport, Anderson served in financial and operational leadership roles in the medical technology and oil and gas industries for nearly 20 years, building expertise in organizational leadership, financial strategy and operational excellence. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Canisius University in Buffalo, New York, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. He is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership at Western Michigan University.
