Why Marketing?

With your marketing degree from Davenport University you will be poised to be a key contributor in developing marketing plans for your company’s strategic plan. This may include specific marketing strategies such as advertising, promotion, production, pricing and social media. We also include research and analytics to help you understand consumer needs and market opportunities.

 

Davenport University’s degree integrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities obtained through the learning of marketing concepts along with a compelling foundation in business. Learn to design marketing programs to accomplish marketing strategies and analyze marketing data and case studies.
 
The BBA in Marketing can be completed in-seat or online.

Marketing Degree Specialties

Davenport offers many specialties to tailor your degree. After you have completed the core courses in the Marketing major, you will complete your degree with the College of Business elective courese or you can choose from one of the following specialties.
  • Advertising and Promotion: Develop an understanding of public relations and learn to recognize, examine, interpret, and implement public relations activities and communications.
  • Sport Marketing:Explore the use of advertising, promotion and public relations to achieve sport marketing objectives.
  • Business-to-Business: Identify the structure and distinguishing characteristics of business-to-business marketing;                 
  • Professional Selling: Gain an understanding of the objectives of sales management and develop a working knowledge of the terminology, functions, and activities of sales management.

BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION  •  120 CREDITS  •  MKTG BBA

Marketing students gain skills in business fundamentals and specific marketing disciplines in a learning environment that balances textbook theory with real-world marketing application.  Students become familiar with the marketing functions and processes that deliver customer value, enhance customer relationships and benefit organizations and their stakeholders.  Varied learning methodologies that emphasize critical thinking, problem solving and ethical decision-making prepare students for the marketing challenges of today’s global environment.  Graduates earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing and an elective Specialty in Business-to-Business, Advertising and Promotion, Professional Selling, or Sport Marketing.
