Mental Health

Creating support for students and developing talent to address the growing demand for mental health support.

On-campus support for students

Providing mental health support services to the Davenport University student body is of the utmost importance. We are working hard to raise the bar of support services offered to our students by creating in-house, readily available counseling and education for students across all campuses.

New degree programs to build talent

In the fall of 2023, Davenport is launching new degree programs to support our state in developing talent in the mental health industry needed to serve our communities:

Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner concentration

This program provides nurses with comprehensive, well-rounded instruction across all disciplines, which will help build skills needed to address psychopathology, substance use disorders and behavioral health. Nurses learn effective counseling and crisis intervention strategies, as well as how to conduct mental health assessments and provide psychiatric care and rehabilitation.
