Undergraduate degrees
This bilingual Associate of Business Administration in Accounting at Davenport combines accounting theory with practical experience. Students learn to manage records, prepare financial statements and use accounting for decision-making while developing professional communication skills in Spanish and English.
The Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting develops technical skills combined with the teamwork and leadership skills expected of today’s accounting professionals. You will learn to develop and maintain accounting records, prepare financial statements and begin to use accounting information as a decision-making tool. Cost accounting, budgeting, and individual and corporate tax courses will enhance your professional knowledge, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
This flexible bilingual Associate of Business Administration lets students tailor their degree by mixing up to four business disciplines, while building professional communication skills in Spanish and English.
With a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration, you will be prepared for a successful career in health care organizations, including integrated health care systems, retirement and long-term care facilities, physicians’ practices, community health organizations, and health care associations.
Build a strong foundation in human resources with a focus on recruitment, employee relations and training. This bilingual program prepares you for entry-level HR roles and strengthens your ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams in both Spanish and English.
The Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management offers you broad exposure to human resource careers, topics, policies and real-world applications. You’ll gain the strong critical thinking and communication skills human resource professionals need.
The Bachelor of Business Administration in Management will prepare you for management and leadership roles to support business growth and change. You’ll develop knowledge and skills in the areas of planning, leading, organizing and controlling so you can improve organizational performance and sustainability.
The Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing will familiarize you with the marketing functions and processes that deliver customer value and enhance customer relationships. You’ll utilize varied learning methodologies to build critical thinking, problem-solving solving and ethical decision-making skills needed in today’s global environment.
The Bachelor of Science in Technology Project Management will prepare you for management positions within the technology field. Coursework integrates accounting, finance, production, computer networking and Computer Information Systems with in-depth project management practices.
The Bachelor of Applied Science in Urban STEM Education Elementary trains you and your classmates to become teachers of high-quality STEM education in the K-8 setting. This degree is a pathway to the alternative route to teacher certification, and you’ll be prepared to take the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification.
Graduate degrees
The Master of Business Administration Bilingual builds skills in management, human capital management, business law, organizational leadership, economics, accounting, quantitative business analysis, operations management, corporate finance, marketing and strategic management.
Through the Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management program, you will develop strategic problem-solving skills that are essential to the human resource profession. Upon completion, you’ll be prepared to take the Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional exam.
The Master of Business Administration in Managerial Accounting will develop knowledge and skills in these five key competency areas: (1) financial reporting and decisions; (2) planning, budgeting and forecasting; (3) performance management; (4) cost management; and (5) internal controls. Completion of this degree also prepares students for Part One of the Certified Management Accountant exam.
The Master of Education in Urban Education will prepare you to meet the educational demands of urban settings. This degree emphasizes culturally sound teaching strategies in urban classrooms to foster student success. The coursework is complemented by clinical classroom observation, which allows faculty to provide immediate feedback on the skills that matter most in effective teaching.
The Graduate Certificate in Business Essentials offers a broad overview of modern business theories, covering marketing, management, financial accounting and essential statistics while building professional bilingual communication in Spanish and English.
The Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management explores diverse HR topics and develops strategic problem-solving skills essential for today’s HR professionals, with emphasis on Spanish and English communication.
The Graduate Certificate in Urban Education is an alternate route to the teacher certification program. This program awards candidates with a certificate in urban education and an interim teaching certificate in subject areas corresponding to passage of specific Michigan Teacher Test for Certification content area competency exams. This alternate route to the teacher certification program allows individuals to teach in Michigan schools while fulfilling credential requirements.
