Emotional Intelligence for Leaders
The strongest teams are built by leaders who understand people, starting with themselves
Davenport University's Emotional Intelligence for Leaders, offered through IPEx, is a hands-on program designed for anyone who leads others, at any level. Research consistently shows that emotional intelligence, not technical skill, is what separates star performers from average ones in leadership roles. Yet most leaders have never had a clear, objective picture of their own EQ or a practical plan to strengthen it.
This program provides both. Participants begin by completing the TTI Success Insights Emotional Quotient (EQ) assessment, which delivers a personalized report across five dimensions of emotional intelligence. Then, in two interactive three-hour sessions, participants use their results to build self-awareness, regulate their emotions under pressure, read and respond to the emotions of others, and communicate in ways that inspire, motivate, and build trust.
The Four Quadrants of Emotional Intelligence:
Emotionally intelligent leadership is built on four connected competencies, spanning what you see and what you do:
1. Self-Awareness:
Accurately perceive your emotions and stay aware of them as they happen, along with your triggers, tendencies, and values.
2. Self-Management:
Use awareness of your emotions to stay flexible, control impulsive reactions, and positively direct your behavior.
3. Relationship Awareness:
Accurately pick up on the emotions of other people and understand what is really going on in the room.
4. Relationship Management:
Use awareness of your own emotions and the emotions of others to manage interactions successfully and build trust.
